I walked upon the Arbre D'amore. Other wise known as the tree of Amore. And no matter what i thought i couldnt handle but thinking about how we first met at a tree. I knew what my feelings now held inside me were. I loved Jay. I had to let him know. So why not do it at the place where the empty heart go for mates. I sure hopped he felt the same way.

The sky was dark, a chill came up my spine form the cold winter breeze. There was yet to be snow on the ground, but i could sense the snow would soon fall. Be it today or tomorrow i shall never know. Winter was a tough season, especially for pups. I knew about how that felt. Not being able to hunt for yourself, and the food getting scarce. It was terrible and almost certain death. I knew if i ever met a pup without parents i would take it in. I knew Jay would feel the same.

It is only one more month from my birthday. The age at which one can breed. It should soon be Jays birthday too. We will be old enough to breed, and have healthy little babies that i've always wanted. I could see it now. If only he would agree. I sat down by Arbre D'Amore waiting, well first i had to summon him. I let out a long soulful howl. It was almost like a song.

I sat there and waited, my ears and eyes peeled. This was my chance i will not blow it...right?

I climbed out from under the fallen tree where i had been resting. I stretched, listening to my tired muscles popping after being still for so long. A chill made my fur shake as i shivered. I looked around and yawned, then a beautiful sound hit my eardrums. My ears pricked as I listened. I recognized the howl. If was Skye.

I lifted my head and howled. I'm on my way! my howl seemed to tell her this. I lowered my head and streaked through the forest until i came to a clearing. In the center, there was a tree. The Arbre D'Amore. On the tree, he saw Skye. I ran over to her, bouncing slightly, happy to see her. We had first met at a tree, and now we met at a tree again. but not just any tree, a tree where lone;y hearts came for mates.

I didn't know what I felt for her at first, but now I'm absolutely positive. I love her, and I'm positive she felt the same way.

As i saw a body come through the clearing, i was almost certain it was Jay. My Heart raced, i was so happy to see him. I stood up and nuzzled his chest as he got close enough. I looked him in the eyes, i loved him so much. I couldnt hold back anymore.

I licked his nose as i sat down. this was our time. "Jay i have to tell you something." i began, almost uneasy. "i-i..." i trailed off i didnt know what to say. I guess the best way is to just blurt it out. "Jay i...i...i love you." i finally got it out. My eyes looked up at him, almost waiting for a reply. I really didnt need one though. "so...Will you be my mate?" This was the most formal way of asking. It was like an engaement.

"Jay i...i...i love you." I smiled and nuzzled Skye. "so...Will you be my mate?" "I love you, too, and of coarse. I wouldn't want it any other way." I nuzzled her and licked her shoulder, still smiling. "I would absolutely love that."

a smile came upon my face. he wouldnt want it any other way. "me too." i nuzzled him back lovingly. The sky was tell ing me that it was a little after noon. The season was cold, even when the sun was at its highest. I hated the winter of all the seasons. There was a higher chance of death, especially for loners. Alphas ate scared, and loners even scareer. Life was deadly for any wolf, and i hoped it wouldnt be me of jay this time.

I closed my eyes and smiled. I love Skye and she loves me. Things would work out just fine. We will be happy and when it gets warmer we will have pups and start a family, maybe even a pack it we are lucky enough. A strong, cold gust of wind blew and the force of it almost made me fall over. But, hey. it's winter. it isn't supposed to be warm. Heck, I don't even like winter. Winter takes lives, unlike spring and summer. Spring and summer can save life and most life starts in the summer. I doubt I can take much more of this, and I don't even want to think a out the possibility of winter taking the life of Skye or myself.

"Hey, Skye. I was thinking, maybe when it warms up and winter is over, we could... you know, have pups. But I would completely understand if you said no." I looked into her eyes, smiling and sotfness in my eyes and tone. "I mean, well, my birthday just happens to be in a few days and after that I'll be old enough to mate and breed and all and I was thinking that if it was the same for you, then you might want to have some pups."

I felt my face burning, and my lavender fur was probably getting a reddish tint to it by now. I was hoping she would say yes, but I would also understand if she said no. I would leave the desition for her to make.

i listened to his meloncolly tone about pups. i loved pups and couldnt wait to have them, but my birthday is the say that winter changes to spring. I knew we could have pups know, but that was quite risky, after all no pack good chance of death. "I love pups. And i want our pups to have what never had...Love." of course i ment as pups ont now, we have love now. "My birthday falls upon the first day of the spring season." ahh love it is great.

The only thing is, with having pups you really needed packlands. i knew a way to solve this. "Lets start a pack." i started, almost like waiting for an answer but continued. "I mean, the storm skies pack is weak now. We could battle them, afterall my brother just found a mate. It would be perfect. We could be the alphas." I really hoped he would allow me to do this.

"The only thing is...." i trailed off, my excitement didnt want to let him know i would be the one fighting for the land. They only had an alphess, no alpha. "I have to fight." i said, my head down. What was he going to say? no? I really wanted this, for our family. So we can be in control and have healthy pups that are heirs to the throne. I had dreams that i wished would never end. or better yet come true.

I looked at Skye, thoughtfully and happily. We both wanted pups and we both new it would be risky without a pack. "It must be nice having your birthday be the first day of spring. I was actually born a couple days before winter ended." I smiled. I had even been born while it was snowing slightly. This made my first night and the following morning hard for me and my mother.

I thought about what Skye had said about starting a pack. "Starting a pack sounds nice, and I would really like it if we did have a pack of our own." I smiled at Skye sofly. "And if we do fight storm skies, I won't force you to fight. You fight if you want to. And it really would be helpfull if your brother and his mate helped, but that is their desition to make." I nuzzled her comfortingly.

I watched jay, i knew Kojak would help. And after our birthdays, we would have pups. But first i wanted to battle sariel. What was i to do? I needed to figure out when to strick, and the name of out pack. "What do you think we should name the pack?" i asked, while deep in my head i thought about it. Erebos. That was the legendary pack my brother talked about non stop. Maybe, just maybe it was our pack once, and he never told me about it.

"What do you think we should name the pack?" I thought for a few moments, not sure of a name. "You know, I have no idea. Maybe your brother has some ideas." I leaned my head against her shoulder. "I'm sure we will come up with something."

I didnt want to just waste my winter thinking. I wanted to have some fun. I looked down at the top of Jays head, that was resting upon my soulder. "Erebos." i said. I knew he wouldnt understand at first. But neither would i. "My brother wanted to start a pack and call it Erebos." i said, but my brother, wasnt jumping on all the chances he gets.

I smiled as he nuzzled me and nodded. Erebos it was. Now i had to infrom my brother and his mate. He would be happy to belong to something of some sort. Although i kind of took his idea, he wouldnt mind. I looked at Jay and smiled. The winter was almost over, then out birthdays would be soon.
